"You did?" She lifts her head enough that she can see his face, still dabbing at hers with the towel. She had no idea he even cared about math, let alone read the proposals for the Fields Medal. She figured he'd gone to culinary school, maybe did a BA in business or something.
"Well, in my defense, I was only twenty three when I wrote that paper, so." She clears her throat. "It could have been better."
